Splatfest #3 Recap – Werewolves got REKT

Turns out vampires don’t suck so much.

So, Splatoon 2 is the game that keeps on giving. When it comes to online multiplayer, games need to give you a reason to keep on coming back. Nintendo are definitely onto something with this fun series of game events, the Splatfest. These fests pit the players against each other by simply asking them which one of two things they think is better. First the was Ketchup vs Mayo and then there was Invisibility vs Flight. For those of you who don’t know, the most recent Splatfest event just happened this past Friday, October 13th. Since it’s spooky season, things got vamped up with the ultimate in folklore battles, Vampires vs Werewolves (or Lycans if you enjoy being wrong about things). Yes, that age old question, can some super talented immortal beings with incredible superpowers defeat men who can turn into wolves?

Of course they can, and boy did they ever! By a landslide, the Vampires won, winning the most votes, most single player matches on, and most teamed matches won. A triple threat from the very best! And who could find fault in results like that? Every iteration of vampires in games, movies, and TV makes them friggin awesome. You have so many to choose from: sexy vampires in True Blood, badass leather-bound gun toting vamps in Underworld (just the first film, the rest of the franchise is trash) and hell, even the pansy-ass Twilight Saga vampires had some good things going for them. Vampires in fiction may be as overexposed as Batman, but that doesn’t really depreciate their value, does it?

Anyway, Splatoon is keeping things alive and well and this writer is looking forward to the next Splatfest with great anticipation. What ultimate versus competition is next? And if you’re actually reading this, write your Splatfest suggestion in the comments! In the meantime, here’s a highlight gallery of my shenanigans during the spooktacular event.

But seriously, play the objective and ink your base! How the hell did I end up carrying a whole team while only being level 8?
